Otakaha Stream

Otakaha Stream is a beach break in Wairarapa known for its fairly consistent waves, though summer can be flat. The best conditions come from south swells and northeast winds, though onshore breezes can ruin the surf. The break offers both left and right waves, suitable for beginners but often uncrowded. Water temperatures are cold, requiring a wetsuit, and there are no major hazards beyond occasional crowds.
