Located in Orange County, 40th Street is a breakwater break that delivers fairly consistent waves year-round. The best conditions come from southwest swells and northeast winds, making it a reliable spot for intermediate surfers. The water is cold, requiring a wetsuit, and hazards include rocks, strong rips, and localism. While it can get crowded, the sheltered location provides good surf in most conditions.
