Carrapateira

Located in the Algarve, Carrapateira is a river break with reliable waves that work well in offshore southeast winds. The best swells come from the northwest, producing both left and right-hand waves. Tides don’t affect wave quality, and crowds are rare, making it a great spot for intermediate surfers. However, be cautious of rocks and the cold water, which requires a wetsuit.
