Barra do Douro

Located in northern Portugal, Barra do Douro is a river break known for its powerful waves, ideal for intermediate surfers. The spot works best with west swells and benefits from east offshore winds. Both left and right waves form here, and the surf is reliable at all tide levels. However, be cautious of strong rips and crowded conditions during peak times. Water temperatures remain chilly, requiring a wetsuit year-round.
