Gnarlies

Gnarlies is a reef break located in The Wairarapa, offering fairly consistent waves driven by groundswells, especially from the east. The spot is best suited for intermediate surfers and is relatively uncrowded, even on good days. Offshore winds from the northwest create ideal conditions, though crossshore breezes can be an issue. Surfers should be cautious of strong rips, rocks, and seals in the area. The water stays cold year-round, requiring a wetsuit.
