Waipapa Bay

Located in Kaikoura, Waipapa Bay is a beach break known for its consistent waves, especially during autumn and winter. The best conditions occur with a southeast swell and offshore north winds, producing both left and right-hand breaks. Ideal for intermediate surfers, the waves perform best around mid-tide when rising. Water temperatures are cold, requiring a wetsuit, and strong rips can make surfing here hazardous.
