Located on Scotland’s East Coast, Aberdeen features a lively beach/groynes/river break with waves fueled by local windswells. The best conditions occur in winter and spring, with southeast swells and offshore southwest winds. Intermediate surfers will enjoy the mix of left and right-hand waves, which peak around low tide. Expect crowded lineups when the surf is good, and be cautious of strong rips near the groynes. Water temperatures are cold, requiring a wetsuit year-round.
