The Pole

Located on Scotland's North Coast, The Pole is a reef break that delivers fairly consistent waves year-round. The best conditions occur with northwest swells and south-southwest offshore winds, making it ideal for beginners. The water remains chilly at 8.6°C, so a wetsuit is essential. While the spot is rarely crowded, surfers should be cautious of rocks. Mid-tide is the optimal time to ride its left-hand reef break.
