Located in Kavieng, New Ireland, Edmago is a reef break known for its consistent waves driven by northwest swells. The best conditions occur at mid tide, with south winds providing the cleanest surf. The break features both left and right-hand waves, though the rights are more favored. Due to its remote location, crowds are rare, but surfers should be cautious of sharks, sea snakes, and sharp rocks. Water temperatures remain warm year-round at around 30.5°C.
