Kakanui River Mouth

Located in Otago, Kakanui River Mouth is a consistent beach and river bar break that works year-round. The south-southeast swells produce both left and right-hand waves, suitable for intermediate surfers. Best conditions occur with west winds, and the waves are surfable at all tide levels. While rarely crowded, be cautious of shark sightings in the area.
