The Hoek

The Hoek is a sandbar break near Cape Town, known for its powerful waves and inconsistent conditions. It works best with southwest swells and southeast winds, producing both left and right-handers. The spot is ideal for advanced surfers, especially around low tide when the tide is rising. However, it can get crowded, which may pose hazards for surfers. Water temperatures average around 18.6°C.
