Located on Lake Superior, Union Bay is a remote point break that delivers sporadic but rideable waves, primarily from north-northeast swells. The chilly waters require a wetsuit, and offshore south winds create the best conditions. Surfers of intermediate skill will find uncrowded sessions, though rocks pose a hazard. Despite its inconsistency, Union Bay rewards those who brave the cold with rewarding waves.
