Patea River Mouth

Located in Taranaki, New Zealand, Patea River Mouth is a beach break with a left-hand reef that performs best at high tide. The waves are fairly consistent, fueled by a mix of groundswells and windswells from the southwest. Ideal conditions occur in spring and summer with east-northeast winds. Water temperatures average 19.2°C, and the spot is rarely crowded, though rocks pose a hazard.
