Amberley Beach

Located in Canterbury, Amberley Beach is a beach break that delivers consistent waves suitable for surfers of all levels. The best conditions occur with east-southeast swells and west-northwest winds, though onshore winds can quickly ruin the surf. Water temperatures remain moderate at 18.2°C, and while the break is uncrowded, strong rip currents pose a hazard. Both groundswells and windswells produce rideable waves, making it a year-round surf destination.
