Upolu Point

Located on the Big Island, Upolu Point is a renowned point break delivering powerful waves fueled by distant north-northwest swells. Best surfed in winter with south winds, it works well at all tide levels and rarely gets crowded. Expert surfers will find long, hollow rides, but hazards include rocks, sharks, strong rips, and localism. The warm tropical water makes it an appealing but challenging destination.
